Every cloud has a silver lining (or red as the case may be!)

Sometimes good things do come out of bad situations! My good thing is shiny and red and very fun and will only cost of lots of pennies for the next several years!!

It is a 2005 Dodge Durango. It's got all wheel drive and 4 wheel drive so maybe driving in that season that shall remain nameless won't be so bad. And 3 rows of seats so my ever growing children don't have to sit on top of each other anymore!

We've been trying to come up with names for it (I have no clue why...we are not a car naming people)
  • Big Red
  • Code Red
  • A Durango ate my baby (said with the necessary bad Australian accent)

Feel free to vote your favorite - or add any suggestions you may have. My kids are in 7th heaven - it has a dvd player in it. Now they feel the need to watch a movie on the way to school.

So sorry I've been MIA - both in reading and writing - I've missed y'all! I've tried to read a bit here and there, but I've had nothing left in me to comment. I am totally tapped out after all the stress of the last 2 weeks.

Thank you so much for all your concern and nice comments about my husbands accident. We both really appreciated it. He was surprised - he just doesn't get the whole blog friend thing :)

Life has been crazy since then - some highlights:

:: Mother-in-law visit. 'nuff said! The whole week before school started...never again. (Though she did buy us lunch at Maddox - rolls and raspberry butter are great healers of relationships!)

:: #2 turned 12! She can FINALLY go to Young Womens! Yay her! In case you didn't know it's year of the cupcake - so we celebrated accordingly!

:: School started...Trauma, Trauma, Trauma. #1 started high school, #2 started jr. high - it's been high anxiety around here to say the least. One or two of my kids have a REALLY hard time with change and new situations. There has been much weeping, and wailing and gnashing of teeth (and that was just me!) TGIF!!!!!

:: Flat tire on the rental van, flat tire on husbands jeep - which sadly is no longer nekkid :(

:: Buying a car. OMGosh - What a most annoying, irritating, sucky experience. Just tell me the bottom line of how much the car costs. The dance back and forth the salesman did between the sales manager up in his little smoke windowed office and us needed better choreography or at least some music. I hate the way they try to make you feel like they are acting on your behalf with the manager. Oh please - don't insult my intelligence. I was so ANNOYED that we ended up haggling over $25 - yes, I won that point - but I wasted too many minutes (that felt like hours) of my life!

:: I'm so tired, I can't remember what else!

I am absolutely exhausted. I feel spent (and not in a good way!). I need some sleep. I need some Lifetime movies, I need chocolate, I need something. I am mere millimeters from the edge of crazy.

I hope there's someone there to catch me.

Oh, I forgot to tell you - I milked a cow at the Davis County Fair. I love Utah.

I'm so happy that something good came out of such a scary situation!

It looks like a "Rita" to me??!!

Yeah, the dance they do is like when Howie Mandel talks to "the banker" on Deal or No Deal. You know the car salesman is just walking into another room and grabbing a coke. There is nobody in there.

Congrats on the new wheels. We went out looking tonight too.

i will love you forever for not using the 'w' word and instead saying the season that we shall not name, or however you put it. :)

also, i like the big red wagon. that's what i'd name her.
we called out toyota echo the little red wagon.

also, i may be heading up to your neck of the woods in the next couple weeks and if i do i am hoping that i can see you?

Pretty pretty car! I love it. I'm so glad you have it. I think you should give your car a D name so you can have alliteration. Like Diego. Diego the Durango.

OMG - sorry about your husbands accident. Sooooo scarry. Thank goodness he is ok. I am so sorry that happened. I live in fear of car accidents. I was in a head on crash when 17 and it traumitized me for years and years. LUCK --that was amazing that that was found in your car.
I like the new red car. HOT --Call it Red Hot.
Hopefully you are feeling more "settled" Val. Life can sure "pile it on" sometimes. I should be back to blogging on a more regular basis now, so I will keep up with you better. good for you on milking the cow.

Hi Val of the south. That is one awesome red car. OH my hub wants a Durango. Maybe if he lets me get some RED front loaders I'll let him borrow your red Durango. hee hee

I haven't heard back from DeNae, but I'm still up for lunch tomorrow. What time do you have a babysitter? I can meet you halfway, like at IKEA for choc cake. Or you can come here. I'll make PB & J and pie. ;) I think Jilly Bean wants to come to.

Anyway, just letting you know I'm still planning on it with or without DeNae

Big Red looks great!

We need a new car here. I like the looks of the red, would be a nice change from our current black Suburban.

Love the beauty... named it yet? I always name my cars. I feel closer to them. Maybe that is why I feel stabbed in the back when they go kafritzy on me.

AND- Holy Moly- you've been busy. Sorry I am a week slow in catching up with you. Not even gonna give a reason- just been MIA for a bit. LOVE YA!
