hickeys at the dinner table

So we sit down to dinner the other night, and my mom is on the phone with my brother. When she hangs up she tells us that my bro's 15 year old daughter wanted to know if she'd be in trouble if she came home with a hickey.

At which point my 11 year old daughter asks her, "what's a hickey?" I said "yeah grandma, how are you going to answer that?" She replys "when a guy sucks on your neck and leaves a mark"

My daughter answers with a "EWWWWWWWW" My husband said the look of horror on her face was priceless. I told her to please remember her reaction when she's older.

The conversation that evolved was quite entertaining. To hear my mom explain about them when she realized what a mine field she'd stumbled into...priceless!

Another bit of innocence knocked off my kids eyes. They'd be way ignorant if it weren't for their sleazy cousins. You gotta learn somewhere I guess.

Who better than family?

I had a kid in my anger management class tell me he went to a rave and came home with a hickey. Mom freaked because he was supposed to be at Scout Camp and she didn't know what was going on! HA!

Glad to see you posting! Are you coming to my blog lunch?

HA! My return missionary came home with a hickey the other day! I told him that although he was old enough to make these decisions for himself...he was also old enough to know I would find out, and I would be taunting him about it. Hickies are white trash. (My exact words) He and she no longer see each other. hahahahah!!!

Yep, family is a blessing and a curse, esp. when they're in-law family (oops! did I just say that?)

That is pretty hilarious! We have a Grandma who pretty much tells it like it is too - I like to sugar coat things.
I am not sure which way is better but it's all funny!

Awe hickey talk, we had to have a talk with our 17 year old about them a month ago. He thought it was no big deal!

Like your story better!
