I'm back in business - yea!
I have had a sucky, sucky week! Sick kid - why do fevers spike in the middle of the night, night after night? Why can't they be on a 9 to 5 schedule? And then when I finally decide to take him to the doctor - (on day 4 of this fun) by the time we got there his fevers were gone, but I had one!
I always take my temp at the kids doctor while we're waiting - and it always freaks my kids out. They are so afraid I'm going to get caught and get in trouble. It's too funny. Once I did get caught and the doctor thought it was pretty funny, but my kids still get nervous everytime!
We know what it's not: pneumonia, strep, meningitis or the flu. But we don't know what it was. He's better, but it since moved on to me and now his sister. These Utah germs seem to know they have fresh meat - they've invited all their friends to continually play with us. We have been sick continually this winter - I am so ready for spring!
Other suckyness - the power cord burned out on my laptop so I had no computer for like a week which is like a year in blog reading time! I had tons of middle of the night time what with all the sickness, and no computer to help me pass the time! So sad!!!
Now for my good news - my boot is off!!! Yea!!! I still have to wear it in high risk situations (who knew there was such a thing?) such as snow and ice. The ankle is healing quite nicely. It rocks to be able to just walk around - and go up and down the stairs without clomping!! I can be stealth mom again!!
It's my husband's non-birthday today! He's a leap year baby - so no birthday this year. Poor thing though, with 3 out of 5 sick, not much celebrating going on. He and Connor are out buying presents and medicine! I did pick up some beef and pork ribs last night when I was out replenishing our supply of popsicles and cough drops. I failed to get any dessert or side dishes though. Birthday ribs it is!!
Happy Birthday Honey!!

Yay for getting the boot off. I can only imagine the freedom that means!
Do you get leap year children presents on their "non birthday"? And why do they always decide the 28th is their birthday, when really, its March 1st.
I always wondered what leap year babies did. Do you celebrate on the 28th or the 1st?
And you most definitely need to come to the next luncheon. I'm thinking about May.
Thanks for your thoughtful comment on my blog in spite of all you have going on. One day you will look back on all of this with fondness, however, I have no idea how long it will take--my youngest is 7 and I am way older than you but I'm still shuddering.
This has been a rough year for us to and we have lived here for 5 years! I hope you are better soon!
Same thing happened to us when we moved to Utah from CA. We got every bug that came along. Sorry to say, it took a few years to aclimate.
By the way, I was nearly a leap baby. Born on the 28th of Feb and 1976 was a leap year.
